We offer three basic categories of custom puppets, each with a general description and price point. The actual price will vary based on the detail you require in your custom character.   Read below each "STAGE" heading to help you make your choices.

Stage 1 Custom Puppets
from $200

Stage 1 Custom Puppets are your entry-level solution to getting a professional quality puppet that's made just for you. If you want a puppet that has a sort of particular "look," and can be satisfied with something that kind of suggests what you need, then a Stage 1 Custom Puppet might be exactly right for you at a price that is rock bottom in the industry.

 

In essence, a Stage 1 Custom Puppet will be assembled from parts we already make for other puppets already available on this website. No new designing will be needed. No specialty clothing will be required. No shopping for specific wigs or accessories such as jewelry and/or glasses will be desired. If you are interested in a "Look-alike" type character and would be satisfied with or even prefer a more "abstract" representation (less exacting = lower cost), then maybe you want to consider a Stage 1 Custom Puppet. The following list of criteria describe a what generally makes up a Stage 1 Custom Puppet:

  • A style of puppet we already make.

  • A skin color fabric we stock.

  • A hair color we already have in a style we already make. (Note: not all hair styles are interchangeable.)

  • Eyes, nose, ears already being used on other puppets on our site.

While it would be impossible for us to state a fixed price for a custom puppet, Stage 1 Custom Puppets are by definition the least expensive we can make because they require the least amount of special attention. Even so, because they are custom in the truest sense of the word, they will be more expensive than any similar style of puppet we already make and sell. The exact cost will depend on exactly what you want, but prices begin at $200. The more intricate or specific your needs, the more it will cost. (Example: a Stage 1 Custom Puppet based on a "Nuzzle" style puppet will cost at least $200. Need legs? The cost goes up. Require a specific outfit? The cost goes up. Want it rushed? The cost goes up. Etc., etc., etc.)

Stage 2 Custom Puppets
from $350

Stage 2 Custom Puppets are your intermediate level, professional quality, custom puppet by Puppetsinc.com. These are our most popular choice for "look alike" puppets because they bridge the gap between a budget, "assemble the pieces" kind of custom puppet and a very expensive, original design custom character.

 

A Stage 2 Custom Puppet will be assembled from parts we already make or can easily adapt whenever possible, but specialized attention will be paid to hair styles, facial features, clothing and accessories. We work from photographs or drawings to get you a puppet that looks as much like what you want as possible without dedicating days to design time, special fabric dying, and other details that cause the price to go up dramatically. The following list of criteria describe a what generally makes up a Stage 2 Custom Puppet:

  • A style of puppet we already make or can adapt easily from patterns we already have.

  • A color of skin we already have.

  • Special hair as needed (including the purchase of a wig and/or unique patterns for fur and other materials.)

  • Special eyes, nose, ears as needed (adapted from existing patterns where possible).

  • Special costuming as needed to suit the character (includes glasses, some jewelry, clothing styles).

Stage 2 Custom Puppets are moderately priced, but still substantially more expensive than Stage 1 Custom Puppets or any of our "off the rack" puppet designs because they require a fair amount of special attention. What you will get is a unique puppet character based on your own special needs. The exact cost will depend on exactly what you want, but you can figure the price to START at $350. (Example: a Stage 2 Custom Puppet will START at $350. Need a hairstyle that requires a specialized wig or hair assembly? Cost goes up. Require specific glasses or facial hair? Cost goes up. Want a particular kind of clothing? Cost goes up. Gotta have legs? Cost goes up. Etc., etc., etc.)

Stage 3 Custom Puppets
from $800

If you have an idea for a puppet, want a high quality finished version of your concept, and cost is not your primary concern, Stage 3 Custom Puppets are for you. Our design experts have created quite a substantial number of Stage 3 Custom puppets including space aliens, sea creatures, college mascots, and one of a kind look-alikes.

 

All Stage 3 Custom Puppets are given expert, personalized design attention - generally starting from scratch - often including fabrication of unique head and/or body shapes, hand sculpted features, and even (if your budget can afford it) color-match fabric dyeing. We will work from photographs or drawings you provide, or generate the character concept for you if you prefer (at additional cost). Special materials and fabrics will be used to maximize the look and feel of your Stage 3 Custom Puppet. Each and every one comes fully-lined and with the attention to quality for which we are famous. Because so much time and individual attention is required, Stage 3 Custom Puppets can be quite expensive and the wait for them may be substantial. The following list of criteria describe a what generally makes up a Stage 3 Custom Puppet:

  • All new patterns as needed.

  • Special hair as needed (including the purchase of wigs and/or unique patterns for fur and other materials.)

  • Special eyes, nose, ears as needed to match design.

  • Special costuming as needed to suit the character (includes glasses, jewelry, clothing styles, etc.).

It is beyond impossible for us to guess what any Stage 3 Custom Puppet will cost before a very specific description and detailed photos/drawings are provided. In general, the more time we must spend generating unique patterns, custom dyeing fabrics, sculpting facial and other features, etc., the more expensive your Stage 3 Custom Puppet will be. Even so, we are dedicated to keeping the prices as low as we can and many of our satisfied customers have told us that the cost of our custom puppets has been substantially less than other quotes they received for the same characters. Bottom line? The exact cost will depend on exactly what you want/will accept, but you can START your estimates around $800 per puppet. It could be a little less. It could be a lot more. Regardless of the actual price, we will give you full value for you money.
