CAMP! is a VBS curriculum set in a wilderness camp that is host to a variety of entertaining characters.
At 'Camp Moosefeather Falls' a friendly bear named Kody is often found rummaging through the trash. Campers will join Kody in his pursuit to learn about the joyous nature of our God.
Your kids will squeal with delight as Kody, the Camp Director, the Poison Ivy Itch and Scratch Dancers, the Muskrat Cabin Players, and a host of Camp Counselors and Camp Staff make every effort to teach them about God.
NOTE:
-CAMP! comes with everything you need on 6 CD roms.
-Print off as many leader manuals, scripts, recipes and games as you need.
-A soundtrack CD is also included to make it easy for your "sound man" to cue up the sing-alongs and background music.
-PLUS: Even though CAMP! is written with the idea of using a "live" storyteller for the Bible Stories in Storytime Clearing, a DVD featuring a goofy storyteller telling all the Storytime Clearing stories is included when you purchase CAMP! (You can actually use this DVD during the Storytime Clearing station, or use it to train one of your volunteers to do the same act, live, for your campers.)
How It Works
Each day your campers will start off with the general ASSEMBLY of cabins. (Each camper will be assigned a cabin that they stay with all week long.) During Assembly they will sing original camp songs, get the day's instruction, and more than likely enjoy a laugh out loud funny meeting between the camp mascot, Kodiak T. Bear and the Camp Director. The theme of the day will be introduced as well. Next, the cabins will dismiss to the different stations.
Modular Stations include:
- Arts and Crafts Lodge - Where campers will make memorable crafts and learn a valuable application to the day's theme.
- Recreation Field - Campers play games and enjoy a more physical demonstration of the day's Biblical theme.
- Storytime Clearing - Campers watch a high-spirited storyteller bring the day's lesson to life with crazy antics.
- Dining Hall - Campers make and eat snacks packed with nutrition for the soul! (in the form of poignant application)
- Nature Walk - Campers hike to a location where they see a visual demonstration of God's Biblical truth!
Together again, the Camper's favorite time...
The Council Fire!
After the day's activities, all the cabins come together to watch the Muskrat Cabin Players do a camp skit, sing songs with the Poison Ivy Itch and Scratch Dancers, listen to the Groundskeeper share a short lesson about the day's theme at the Council Fire, and laugh with glee again at the interaction between the Camp Director and that lovable Kody! This will wrap up the day, only to do it again tomorrow!
CAMP! VBS
So, what is 'CAMP!' ?
It's a terrific curriculum that includes all the traditional elements of a high quality, modern VBS but includes the flexibility you want to adapt the programming to your specific needs. It has original upbeat music, crazy games, goofy snacks, clever crafts, hilarious group assemblies, and unforgettable lesson times. With options! Most notably, CAMP! was written to include puppeteers and drama teams! Any given church has gifted or even just interested performers looking for an outlet into ministry. This curriculum features a large bear puppet, Kodiak T. Bear, as well as a cast of zany actors (with options to use even more)!
FEATURES:
Highly customizable: Use this curriculum with a few volunteers, many volunteers, or go all out by using your church puppet and drama teams and all the volunteers you can find!
Simple or Elaborate: Play it simple! It has clear instruction for making a memorable, easy to run VBS week. Go ALL OUT! Get a drama team and puppeteers involved. Put costumed, zany volunteers to work in every station of the VBS!
Modular: If you don’t like the game, or craft, or lesson…choose another! It has choices galore and helpful notes for Biblical application to all your choices.
Low Preparation: VBS is a lot of work. This curriculum has the volunteer in mind with clear instruction and minimal prep time.
Plug in More Volunteers: (if desired) It allows a small church with few volunteers to put on a high-quality basic VBS, but it is modular so a large pool of volunteers can use the extra options to put on a large scale “big production style” VBS. Better yet, you can easily invite your youth or adult drama and puppet teams to help you stage a VBS that is unlike any other!
Don’t want to use it for VBS? We don’t mind! It is written as a seamless VBS curriculum, but with dozens of lessons, songs, puppet scripts, drama scripts, games, crafts, funny snacks and ideas for object lessons you can use this material for whatever you want!
Children’s camp, Sunday school, 5 day clubs, or any other number of events could benefit from the different elements in this package.
With the (optional) strong focus on drama and puppets, you have a lot material at your disposal.Camp Moosefeather Falls is where it all happens. Let's take a look at what your campers will experience:
